Leaking Roof from a Storm in Pearl River

The Before Photo explains why our customers were distraught after the storm hit their Pearl River home. This flat roof was breached in several places, and the rainwater poured into the small void above the ceiling. The weight of the water presented a safety hazard, and as shown in the After Photo, our SERVPRO team removed the ceiling panels and discarded them according to local codes. We covered the roof with temporary protection (blue tarps) until repairs could be done. The interior we dried with our advanced equipment, including axial fans, air movers, and LGR dehumidifiers. After checking with our moisture meters that all was dry to standard levels, we applied a light antimicrobial spray to prevent the growth of mold and to disinfect the water-damaged raw wood.
